What am I?

Margaret has suggested that we make Friday “weird object day”. We will both be posting about some odd thing that we have in our homes. Today’s Item is something that I will not name and you   will have to figure out what this is.
I will give a new hint each time I post on my blog. BEN AND MEGAN are not allowed to play because they already know the correct answer. Here is your first clue. Many years ago, my good friend Janet had two cats. Their names were Zarabeth and Isis. If you know the origin of these names, you will know the genesis of this little guy. PS, I actually gave you two separate hints!

Please check out Margaret’s blog to see what she has posted for weird object day!

Meg’s room

This is one of the walls that I finished papering last year.
Chris made the hanging wall shelf, and in comes in handy for displaying Meg’s pottery. I do think I need to repaint it burgundy.

It’s been over a year since I started wallpapering Megan’s old Room. I began to redecorate when she announced that she would “never” be moving back in again.I’m almost done!
I stopped in the middle of this project last May because she moved back in for the summer. Last fall, she moved back out. And what is my excuse for abandoning this for so long? (I don’t have one!) Anyway, I started up again yesterday.

Today seemed like a good day to continue this trend of productivity because this is what it looks like outside. snowstorm Yes we indeed have a snow storm and I am stuck in the house. So I Guess you can say that I literally have turned the corner and I am happy to report that I only have three more pieces of wallpaper to go!

In keeping with an idea that Margaret used in her blog, I present here a strange artifact that I have inherited, but I have no idea what it actually is.
what can this be? What can this be? Perhaps it is an old fashioned pick comb. pick comb
Ham Fork? Or maybe a ham fork A windmill beard And what’s up with that wind mill on the top? It really does spin.

Do you know what this might be???

February trees in a fog

It is the first week of February and the weather is unusual. Instead of frigid cold and lots of snow, we have temperatures in the forties and fog. This picture was taken near sunset

My Mother’s Garden

My Mother’s garden #2

My mother had an amazing garden and it spanned the entire length of our backyard. It has been 19 years since my mother’s death and at least 17 years since her house was sold. But I can still see it clearly in my mind’s eye.

Did you know you can code a picture to act like a link?   Just click on the picture of the snail. This is considered an external link because it takes you to a different web site.

A relative URL takes you to a location inside the same document, so if you click here it will take you to the first page of this journal.
