My father e-mailed me a group of pictures yesterday. He had a couple of unexpected visitors in his back yard. They came right up to his family room door. This one is my favorite.

Whoa! It looks like a couple deer preparing to have a cookout!

Some how I don’t think venison is on the menu…

The deer once had a home where Legacy VIllage now is - a pristine wooded area that was part of the Blossom Estate. They they still have the expanse of land surrounding the old TRW headquarters now occupied by the Cleveland Clinic. Now they are hungry. They were in the yard eating the bits and pieces left over when we cleaned out the dead leaves and stalks left over from the annuals and perennials. I’ve even seen one boldly cross Cedar Road from the Acacia Country Club to Beachwood place. I don’t know if I am going to plant my tomatoes this year - they ate the tops of the stalks before the blossoms came out, and the few ones I got were hardly worth eating.fd
Maybe they all should be rounded up, put on trucks and taken out to Holden Arboretum so they can feast on the rhododendrons and azaleas. It’s sad.

I wish the deer would roam around our yard.
