Today is Megan’s 21st Birthday!
Yay Megan!!!
These pictures come from an art book by Saul Steinberg called “The Art Of Living”. It was published in the forties and had resided in my parents house while I was growing up. I have loved this book since I was a child and I remember looking at it many times through the years. Well, it belongs to me now.
I know that this book has influenced my daughter the artist, and that she has also looked at it many, many times through the years. Sometimes after spending the night at our home, I will find it on the window seat by her bed, so I know she still likes to look through it. I present it for my weird object post because as you can see, These drawings are quite odd in character.
