Nikki’s Garden
We have been spending a lot of time lately with Chris’ mom Nikki. May has been a difficult month for our family. Last Saturday, Chris’ dad died. He had been in the hospital, the first three weeks of May and his doctors were doing a lot of tests to determine whether he could have an operation to fix the leaky valve of his heart. Sadly, he was not healthy enough for the operation. He was home for one week before he died.
Nikki told me that during the last week of Roy’s life, they spent a lot of time together just sitting on the patio and enjoying their beautiful yard.
Chris took today off from work and we spent the day with his mom, helping her out with this and that. I took these pictures while we were over there.
Sorry to hear about your and Chris’s loss. It sounds like a peaceful last few days, though - I hope there’s some solace in that.

Nikki is lucky to have you and Chris to help her, and to give her support. I hope she is doing OK. I know it must be hard for all of you. Her garden is beautiful.

So sorry to hear about your familys loss. I’m glad he was able to spend his last days at home by the garden with family.
