OH DEER!
OH DEER!
Two days ago, I had six beautiful broccoli plants. As of yesterday, I only have one left. I have noticed a deer or two in my yard lately. I’m thinking there is a connection here. My mother-in law advises me to put hot sauce on cotten balls, put the cotton balls on sticks and place them around my remaining plant. Apparently, deer do not like their broccoli hot and spicey.

We don’t have deer problems but my parents do. My problems are skunks, raccoons, squirrels and ground hogs. They won’t leave my bird feeders alone.

I’m so glad that you corrected me on your name. All this time you have been an Elsie to me. Shows how close I pay attention. I’m going to have to get used to the new you. And I like the name Elise much better than Elsie.

Oh that’s too bad! They can wipe out a garden in no time.
The bunnies ate a bunch of my flowers this year.

Darn Bambi! I liked the red arrow pointing to the “lone survivor”, which I hope the deer leave alone now.

Jessica, When I was born, my mom wanted to give me a name that started with E, to name me after her dad Edward, who died when she was pregnant with me. Well, she chose the name Enid. This brings to my mind a good name for a little old lady for some reason. Anyway, my sister Rosemary, who was nine years old at the time, convinced my mom that Enid was not a great name, and Elise was chosen as a substitute. I will always be thankfull to my big sister for my name!
