Red Cinquefoil
This is another perennial that I picked up on that trip to Bluestone Perennials with my sister, Rosemary.
Cinquefoil is French for five fingers, which refers to the five lobes on each leaf. It also bears the Latin name of Potentilla which means”little powerful one.” The variety I have is called monarch’s velvet.
This perennial blooms all summer long and attracts bees.
This wild flower is another great choice for placement in naturalized gardens.
