A Hummingbird has discovered my phlox
Phlox is a Greek word that means flame.

Butterflies, bumblebees and hummingbirds all love Phlox.

They are a sweet smelling, old fashioned perennial and one of my favorite summer time flowers.

But not to be confused with Dr Phlox!

Great post! Is that the butterfly in picture one?
It looks like it has holes in the wings?

It is a hummingbird moth. I used to watch them on my Grandmother’s butterfly bush when I was young. They mimic a hummingbird, and even hum! Cool picture. Thanks for bringing me back to my youth.
