Weird Bug Friday

I had no Idea what this bug was when I found it the other day.   I did google it, and i am fairly certain that it is a milk weed beetle. I also think the plant he is sitting on is actually milkweed.  You may think this is not wierd at all but it is to me because having never seen one before, I actually thought at first that it was a mutant lady bug!
