Daisy

Daisies

My friend and neighbor Jean gave me a pot of Daisies from her garden a few years back. They established themselves right away and I now have transplanted several patches from the original.

The name Daisy is derived from “day’s eye”, due to this flower’s resemblance to the sun. The yellow disk in the middle is the sun and the petals are rays the of light that surround it.

  1. What an interesting origin of the name. I never knew. I think I’ll post my black-eyed susans today. You have inspired me.

  2. I’ve never been a roses girl, my husband knows to give me daisies. I even had them in my wedding bouquet.

  3. My favorite!! And do you believe it I don’t even have any.
My entire wedding bouquet was white daisies–in December.
