Rose of Sharon
Rose Of Sharon
I have had this Rose of Sharon shrub of about three years now. I admired one that a friend had in their yard and was very happy when I found one to purchase at a local garden center.
This pretty shrub starts blooming in August and flowers for the rest of the summer. Hummingbirds and the insects they like to eat are attracted to it.
Sharon is actually a region in Israel on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea that is mentioned in the Bible.

That last photo was stunning. I couldn’t stop staring at it. Beautiful!

Beautiful! Sounds like another flower I’d like, especially since I want to
keep my hummingbirds happy!
Rose of Sharon is in the book of Song of Songs. I thought it was just a flower.
I will have to look up more on this now I’m curious.

I have a white one that’s become huge. I like the pink better, I think.

I think I’ll wait until it is in full bloom, and take more pictures for posting.
