The last of the siding pictures

The last of the siding pictures

This is obviously the before picture.   We had a lot of moisture problems, which caused the paint to peel a lot sooner than what would be considered normal.   We did a lot of other work to address the moisture issues this summer too.

This is the front of our home.   We are getting close to cleaning up our yard. It will be nice to finally be able to mow the lawn.

One of the fun things I was able to do was chose hardware to dress up the door length shutters that flank the front door.   The three straps on each shutter are rough forged Iron dummy straps.   Then we mounted the S shaped shutter dogs at the top outer corner of each shutter.

I promise that I am now done talking about siding and have gotten it all out of my system.   On to the next project.   More on this later.

  1. Absolutely gorgeous!!!
No more painting must be a good feeling,
but you don’t look too happy sitting on that
big ole pipe. looks like that might be bad news??

  2. Looks marvelous! That pipe looks scary..

Shutter dogs! Sounds like a good name for a band.

  3. That pipe weighs close to three hundred pounds and is part of the next home project, which is to stop our driveway from crumbling into the creek that runs underneath. It’s both bad news and scary to me!

  4. Well, pipe aside, the house looks great, and as one who faces a painting project (maybe next year - I keep putting it off) I am envious.
