Adding river stone

Adding river stone

Remember that pipe project from a couple weeks ago?   This was the next step.   The river stones help to deter erosion and protect the banks of the creek.   We did hire someone to lay down the stone, but the problem was that the stone was laid flat without being scooped out for the flow of the creek.

I can’t shovel stones anymore because I am afraid I’ll reinjure my back, but I can sit down on the ground and throw stones, in order to create a channel for the water to flow, and that is just what I did!   The creek on both sides of the driveway was covered with the river stones.   I am so glad this project has come to an end.

  1. It looks great! I hope you got all your frustrations out from throwing those stones. I think I could have used some of that therapy.

  2. Looks like a lot of work, but there should be a payoff, long term, eh?

  3. Margaret- I did kinda enjoy it.

Ben- Hopefully the pay off will be no more driveway crumbling into the creek!
