Workin’ the craft show

Workin’ The Craft Show

Saturday, Megan and I spent the whole day together, selling her beautiful pottery, at a Christmas craft show.

We were there from seven in the morning, (two hours for set up) until four in the afternoon.

This show is at a neighborhood church, so we run into a lot of people we know there.

The best part of it for me is spending time with my daughter!

  2. Hi Elise! You daughter is a true artist. Her works are beautiful. My Mom does a few shows a year where she sells her orchids and violets. I like to go with her and you are right…. the best part is spending the day together.

About your bird house question…. I’d go ahead and leave it facing the house and see what happens. You can always change it if you don’t see any activity for some time. Most finches won’t use it because they prefer cup nests. Chickadees will nest in a house but they prefer to be along the edge of woods. Your best bet is a wren. They seem to take up residence anywhere and like houses. Jen had one on her front porch in a flower arrangement this last summer and I had one in my backyard in a house on a pole. Other than my wren and a robin I haven’t been real successful in attracting nests in my yard (at least that I could see). I’m hoping to do better next year. I’m going to try and put up some owl and woodpecker nesting boxes this winter.

Good luck and keep us posted!!
