Random yard thoughts

My burning bushes never turn bright red.   It’s because they need a lot of sunlight to do so and that is something I don’t have much of in my yard.   I have too many trees.

We have lots of firewood stacked on the porch.   The breezeway is now loaded with wood too.   We use our fireplace a lot in the winter to keep our heating bills down.

No way am I raking this!

A nd finally, This is truly the last thing we did for that creek project.   We didn’t want to have to mow an akward patch of land around a large tree by the creek, so we covered the whole area with four yards of mulch.

  1. Guess you can call yours “smoldering bushes”.

That’s a whole lotta firewood!! You must be on a first name basis with your chimney sweep.

  2. Hi margaret, your comment came up as anonymous for some reason, so it was held for me to approve. I recognized your IP address, so I knew it was you! We use a chimney sweep company named Merry Poppins. That reminds me it’s time to call them!

  3. That’s what mulch is all about! Filling in those hard to do anything else with spaces, like up next to houses, around trees, etc.

  4. I posted it from my other computer with the new hard drive. I don’t think all my info is in the memory anymore, and doesn’t default when I try to post. Sorry!

  5. Margaret- It should be ok next time. Word press puts all comments it thinks are from new people into moderation.

Ben- you’re right about the wonders of mulch. It also kept the weeds controlled in my vegetable garden last summer.
