A few things…

I started decorating for Christmas.

I discovered that my camera actually has a built in zoom. But I still ordered the 2x accessory lens on line and should be able to take better bird pictures soon.

We’ve been building alot of these lately…
My first Christmas Tree

This is a picture of me and my first Christmas tree. When I was growing up, my family celebrated both Christmas and Hanukkah, but I never had a Christmas tree until I moved in with Chris. We have had a live tree every year since.
Hollow Tree
Do you remember the tree that broke in half during the September wind storm, which added to the mess of downed trees in our back yard? HERE is the picture, if you need a memory refresher.

The reason that tree snapped off in the middle was that is hollow inside.

Do you think this hole might be a home for squirrels?

I liked this photo. It’s just a small sliced view of this tree.
Weird cat toys friday
OK, I admit it; this is not very weird but Rikki does have a lot of toys and it seems to be pet toy day here at the Weird Object Friday kaltch!

This one is my favorite cat toy, but for Rikki, it’s got to be the milk jug rings in the top picture.

My mom’s roosters

These roosters sit on the mantle of my fireplace.

I wish I knew something more about them. All I know is that they originally belonged to my mom.
More handmade Christmas cards

When my daughter Megan was in elementary school, I started to make our family’s Christmas cards, using her drawings and paintings.

T his one I think is my favorite, and it is also one of the earliest cards.

Here is our card from her senior year in high school .

This abstract card was from a couple years ago.

Sadly, this era has come to an end, as Megan is so busy. This year’s card will feature a photo taken by yours truly. A new era begins.
Weird Photo Friday

Have you ever heard that old joke “The cat’s on the roof?” If not, you can find it HERE. Anyway, This is a very old picture of Bree and Fiver, who crawled out a bedroom window and on to the roof. This picture has been on our kitchen bulletin board for many years. When someone in our family has a rather large problem, we often say “ut oh, the cat’s on the roof!”

Blue Sky

Today I took a walk around the yard before going to work.

The temperature had risen to 45 degrees and the sky was bright blue.

I better enjoy it while I can because tomorrow, the prediciton is for more snow and colder temperatures.
