Doves
Doves
This Mourning Dove greeted me early today outside my window.
And not too long after that, a second one joined him.
Here is one of them, eyes almost closed, or did I catch a slow blink? Did you know that Mourning Doves are members of the Pigeon family? Do you think I should change the name of my blog to doveshavepants? But then I would have to change the name of my cat Pigeon - never mind.

Don’t you love their eyelids? It looks like they have blue eyeshadow on. I love that first photo… how she’s peeking around at you.

Pige—I just posted a comment on a blog–where the poster (Michelle) showed pictures of a big hawk capturing a mourning dove and eating it.. So Sad–but as Michelle said the hawks have to eat also..
Love the pictures of your ‘pigeons.’ I love Mourning Doves–and their call of mourning… Beautiful birds and beautiful pictures, especially the first one.
Hugs,
Betsy

There’s a pair that flies out of the bushes when I take the dogs out in the morning. They’re wings make that Whistle shape, and it scares me every time! They are such peaceful looking birds.

They look nice and warm. I need to get me a feather coat. I have 2 pairs of socks on, am inside and my feet are still cold.
