Just a few finches

I get a lot of Gold Finches these days at the thistle feeder and I see signs that their golden color is starting to brighten.

Shake your tail feathers?

They are such pretty little birds.

I have a big bag of thistle, and a thistle feeder that’s been ruined by one pesky squirrel. Guess I need to go back to the store and find one that’s squirrel-proof.

This feeder is out of reach for the squirrels. It hangs from a hook on the top of the front porch. I did put up a new feeder that the squirrels knocked down and broke, before I even got to take a picture. That’s what I get for hanging it from a tree branch.

Oh Pigeon, I love Goldfinches also. ours are turning more and more yellow–now that spring is here.
Most of our Pine Siskins are gone (thank goodness) –and that gives more room at the feeders for the other finches and our normal birds (Cardinals, Carolina wrens, Chickadees, Tufted Titmice and the Nuthatches).
Great photos.
Have a great day tomorrow.
Hugs,
Betsy
