Another Caption Contest

There are baby squirrels living in a tree, in my front yard.   The one kinda looks like he’s whispering something to the other, but what’s being said here?   You have until Saturday at midnight to comment a caption, and I will post the winner on Monday. First prize will be decided jointly by the family.   2nd and 3rd prize will be a random draw.

And now for the prizes:   In honor of my daughter the artist and recent college graduate, I will purchase three of these pieces from her to give out as prizes.   The first place winner will have first pick, and so on and so forth.

Starting at the back left, we have a small green and white pot, a mug with a girl’s face and a plain brown mug.   The front row has two small plates.   A yellow and blue plate with a bird design and one of a girl with apples.

Good Luck!

Megan is now a college graduate!

On Saturday, my daughter Megan graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art, with a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts in ceramics.

This is a picture of Megan and her roommate Lexi, who also received a degree in ceramics.

Now I have two grown up children with college degrees.   Congratulations Megan! Your family is very proud of you!

A Self Portrait of My Mom

Yesterday, I spent the day at my sister Rosemary’s home.   I took my camera along with me to photograph some of the family art work that she owns.   This is a self protrait that my mom did of herself when she was young.   My sister has it hanging in her dining room.   My mom graduated from The Cleveland Institute of art in 1940.   While there, she studied under Viktor Schreckengos.   My daughter Megan will graduate from the very same art school this spring.

Cat theatre

We have had quite a time of it, these past few days.   We have experienced frozen washing machine water pipes, and have had TWO visits by our friendly neighborhood tow truck service, as Megan and Chris both managed to get stuck in our own driveway.

I should also mention that our snow plow driver broke his plow while clearing our snow!

Weird duct tape Friday

I think Megan was 12 years old, the summer she entered a duct tape contest at the Forth of July festivities in Chesterland.   She won second place.

First place went to two girls who both fashioned evening gowns from camoflage colored tape.   Third place went to a guy who duct taped his whole car!

My favorite Christmas present

Megan bought this pitcher at a thrift store.   Then she painted a picture of a picture of a girl on it.

Originally, this pitcher had a flowery design.   You can still see those flowers on this close up shot.
