More animations

I think I have conquered the process of the two frame animation, I am still trying to master three frames, but at this point it’s still too confusing.

I still need to get better at taking two pictures that are exactly the same, except for the movement of the subject. I have a little problem with the backgrounds jumping around, because I didn’t keep my camera still enough. I wanted just the beak of the cardinal to open and close, and the little sparrow’s head to move, but the tree is moving too! I’ll keep trying, I love a challenge.
Twisted

This Downey Woodpecker has to work hard for his food!
∗ Happy 24th birthday Ben!!! My son turned 24 today.
Earrings for my Sister

I made these copper earrings for my sister Rosemary’s birthday. They really aren’t this big. They measure an inch in length and 3/4 of an inch in width.

Of course I did have to try them on. It’s not easy to take a picture of your own ear! Today is my 51st birthday and Chris has taken the day off from work to spend it with me. His birthday is Friday! I’ll let you know what we did today.
Walking with Pigeon

The the weather was nice, and my cat Pigeon and I went for a walk.

Pigeon is an indoor/outdoor cat. When I go outside she likes to keep me company and we walk together.

I sometimes call her my Camouflage kitty because she blends into the scenery.
Weird Names Friday

This is a picture of our first cats. I chose their first names. The black kitty was named Mocha Java, and the gray one was named Maxwell house, (we called her Max). I guess I was really into coffee at the time. Chris was in charge of the middle names and in usual (unusual) Chris style, he named them after foot problems. Thus we have Mocha Java Bunion and Maxwell House Fungus.

Fast forward about 12 years, to 1992. We now have a new kitten and the kids are in charge naming him. Five year old megan has chosen Sea Breeze, as she was in her little mermaid phase at that time. Mechanical minded seven year old Ben has picked Electric Battery Recharger. Thus we have Sea Breeze Electric Battery Recharger. We just call him Bree. Bree is now 17 years old!

Did I mention that when Megan was three years old, she told me that she had named her feet “Pete” and “Footbear”?
This is my jewelry class

This is a picture of the class I take on saturday afternoons. It is all about how to make jewelry. Our teacher Cindy, is on the far right in the green sweater. She has a wealth of knowledge on this subject. It’s a great class.

I decided to make another pair of brass earrings. Brass is very pretty and a lot less expensive that sterling silver. As a beginner, I’d rather make my mistakes in brass, not silver. The first step was to design the earrings on my computer. Next I cut out the printed templates and glued them on to the piece of brass. I used a hairdryer to speed up the drying time of the glue.

Here are the tools I will use to cut out the earrings. From left to right we have the saw blade, the saw frame, a jeweler’s bench, and the bench’s clamp.

And finally, here I am sawing away. I have more to show you from saturday’s class, but I will save it for another day.
Weather like a see saw

It is that in between time of year in Northern Ohio, where the weather likes to change it’s mind, and it goes back and forth for awhile. Yesterday, we started the morning with 50 degrees and rain. By afternoon it was cold and snowy again. Oh well. Blink your eyes, and it will change again.
Yesterday I went for a walk
I went walking yesterday. Here are a few of the things I saw.

Brass Earrings made by me!

I have been taking a class about making jewelry since mid January and I’m having a lot of fun with it.

I made this pair of earrings. First I created the design. Then, I cut out the shapes with a special hand saw. Holes were placed at the top with a hand drill, to slip the ear wire into. And finally, I used Chris’s DREMEL with a stone grinding head to create the texture.
